Philadelphia Phillies – Utley Ridiculous

The Philadelphia Phillies jumped out to an early lead against the Cincinnati Reds with help from their 2nd base southpaw.  Chase Utley made the bell gong once again in the city of brotherly love with his 2 run shot in the 1st inning which gives him 21 homers in 2008.  The Phillies summoned the bell two more times in the 4th inning with Pedro Feliz’s 2 run homerun and Chris Coste’s solo blast to left field.  The final score was 5 to 4 with the Phils accruing 12 hits over 9 innings in Citizen Bank Park and remaining at the top of the N.L. East.  The Phillies are looking to gain back Jayson Werth from the D.L. hopefully by June 9th as long as he continues to progress, but they did release the left handed slugger Chris Snelling from the D.L. and sending T.J. Bohn back down to the Minors.  With the set backs on Kris Benson’s recovery the Phils are looking to remain with the starting rotation as Adam Eaton (5.20 ERA) takes the mound tomorrow against Aaron Harang (4.38 ERA).

  1. Utley is utterly amazing! He is definitely giving our Marlins second baseman a run for his money in the All Star Game voting!
