Philadelphia Phillies – Offensive Death

I could not bring myself to write about last night’s game.  So, I’ve taken this opportunity to channel my feelings into teaching others.  Below I have posted Merriam-Webster’s online version of the definition of offense in hopes that some of the members from the Phillies will read and learn.  I will just sit back the rest of the day and think about the rally towels from last year and Pat Gillick’s failure to re-sign Kyle Lohse and Aaron Rowand . . . . .  Oh, yeah and Jimmy Rollins whiner baby comments yesterday about the awesome Phillies Phans that he can no longer handle.  He just doesn’t like having to work for his millions!  Don’t worry Jimmy I feel the same way about you.  Maybe this is a wake-up call and a time for a change in the short stop position?

Boomstick Shakala ! – Pat Burrell Soars Phils to a Win

Last night’s heroics by Aaron Rowand was over shadowed by the Phillies Pat Burrell’s 10th inning fireworks display.  It was the bottom of the 10th innning with 2 outs and a 3-2 count.  Pat Burrell was at the plate with the score on the big screen showing 5 – 4 in favor of the Giants.  Chase Utley was on base and you could feel the tension in the air.  Pat watched 5 fastballs in the high 90’s scream by him, but by the 6th pitch he had the timing down.  He in turn hit a screamer back with the wind in the form of a line drive 2-run home run into the left field seats as Brian Wilson watched in disbelief.  Citizen Bank Park errupted with fans hugging one another and Pat’s teammates waiting for him at homeplate for his just deserve.  Once again Pat showed Philly Phans why he has the name Pat “the bat” Burrell . . . . . . Go Phillies !
